Living and working in the Blue Ridge Mountains, I have always felt that art should be more than a decoration. It should be something that grounds you. My forest mandalas bring together the steady symmetry of traditional patterns with the wild, unpredictable textures of the wood itself. I create these pieces to turn a simple stroll through the trees into a more thoughtful and intentional experience.
Working with the Wood, Not Against It
At Jacq’s Wood Art, I am not interested in factory-perfect circles or uniform finishes. My work is a back-and-forth between my ideas and the history of the tree itself.
